Recovery Coaching
- Develope recovery-enabling relationships, based on hope.
- Supporting the person with their recovery plan.
- Coaching to increase recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience and decision-making.
- Collaborating with the broader system of supports to ensure supports are recovery-oriented.
- Supporting engagement with the NDIS, including support with plan implementation.
Support Coordination
- Help Participants connect to NDIS and other supports.
- Build a participant's capacity and capability to understand their plan, navigate the NDIS and make their own decisions.
- Broker supports and services in line with participant wishes and their plan budget.
- Monitor plan budgets and support effectiveness
Other Differences
- Support Coordination is a “capacity building” support available to all NDIS participants, Recovery Coaching is only for people who’s Primary Disability is of a Psychosocial Nature.
- Recovery coaching is supporting the participant to take responsibility for their plan and wider life.
- Recovery Coaching fulfils the same responsibilities as a Support Coordinator but has a different approach.
